Background: Marric’s childhood was abruptly terminated on an [ Redacted ] Outer Colony world. Born on August 27, 2520, his formative years were unremarkable until the Covenant arrived in 2526. He witnessed the horrific glassing of his home and was found days later by an ONI recovery team—a profoundly traumatized six-year-old child huddled amidst the ruins.
Marric was inducted into Alpha Company in 2531, His training was marked by an unnerving efficiency and lack of affect. He never complained, never showed fear, and never sought camaraderie. His physical recovery from injuries was startlingly fast, a subconscious reflection of his belief that he existed only to operate, not to feel.
Headhunter selection: Marric’s exceptional, almost suicidal, commitment to mission parameters and his complete disregard for his own well-being made him a prime candidate for the most dangerous of assignments. In 2535, just a year before Alpha Company's disastrous deployment in Operation: PROMETHEUS, ONI analysts secretly pulled him from the main roster. He was chosen for the Headhunter role because ONI saw him as perfectly calibrated for operations with a near-zero chance of survival—a tool designed to "expand all utility" As a Headhunter, Crow never took leave, never requested downtime, and often requested re-deployment immediately after recovering from grave injuries.
Fall of Reach: Crow was deployed to Reach during the initial stages of the invasion, engaging in high-priority deep reconnaissance and elimination missions against key Covenant leadership.
During the final collapse, he was tasked with a suicide mission to ensure the destruction of a critical ONI data archive near New Alexandria. While destroying the archive, Crow’s left hand suffered catastrophic thermal and plasma damage, burning the limb down to the bone. With his SPI armor critically damaged and suffering severe neural injury, he commandeered a damaged, single-occupant Type-31 XMF (Seraph-class). Driven purely by ingrained directive and a refusal to die on the mission, he punched the fighter through the atmosphere just before the planet was fully glassed. Crow was found drifting six months later by a small UNSC frigate. His physical recovery was long and difficult, and his armor was reduced to scrap. Medically, he was repaired, but his mental state was a persistent, terrifying blankness—the tool was operational, but the machine had nearly forgotten its purpose.
New assignments & Gear (post-reach)
After recovery, ONI classified Marric as an operational asset with survival parameters exceeding initial projections. Recognizing his unique dedication, he was permanently assigned a MJOLNIR Mark V [B] suite and re-designated an ONI Tier 1 Strategic Asset, removing him from the general Headhunter operational pool and assigning him to high-value, solo strategic reconnaissance.
Crow has a very tough shell does not engage in small talk, or express emotion. He possesses zero discernible affect. May find him by himself most the time, mainly spending time at the range but will note he's trying to improve.
